What is Security Guarding?

Security guarding is the need of the day not only in the city where you live but across the globe. But the question is “Is it mandatory to have manned security?” Well, I would say yes it is but off course the number of people that are deployed can certainly vary if technology is provided to these guards as a weapon.

Today, it is a common site to see a commercial setup using CCTV to monitor, and a security guard, normally placed at the entrance or the reception, who keeps monitoring the live data transmitted by CCTV cameras. Today it is seen that this setup is usually used to ward of people who intend to indulge in criminal activities, rather than protect the place. This happens because the security guard kind of gets slightly relaxed to be aware that even if he / she is not monitoring it is getting recorded. This has been seen all across the globe where-in even though security guarding was in place, yet things go wrong, especially shop lifting. This can be checked with close monitoring of the security guards by a worthy supervisor.

Security guarding has also used dogs to monitor and keep a check on the criminal elements. The best example of this would be the custom section of the airport or railway station or bus terminals. These canines are highly trained and help their controllers to locate much malicious substance like narcotics, explosives and even chasing a hot trail. The in born ability to smell is the key to success for these canines.

It is also seen that not only do government uses these techniques but even well to do people have adopted them. People owning large estates often fall back to dogs and have a large number of them who are there to roam the entire estate and help in security guarding.

Today security guarding has attained that a level that one cannot possible walk for a while without noticing something or the other that helps in security guarding. You would definitely see a CCTV or a uniformed guard keeping an eye on anything and everything.

With the usage of high tech gadgets one can not only keep an eye but since every bit of data is recorded and stored, if not for ever but for some time, and this can be used to learn what all happened and can be used as a proof in the court of law.
